Gap Scholarship

…because life happens.

With the closure of Child Care Connections, many of their services for our community ended as well. Luckily, Child Care Connections entrusted the Early Childhood Collaborative (with the St. Peter’s Health Foundation) as recipients of their remaining Gap Scholarship funds.

This program is a result of that money.

Does your family need help paying for child care?

The Gap Scholarship program supplements the cost of child care, helping families cover child care expenses including tuition and fees. Families can apply for up to $1,000 per calendar year.

You may qualify if:

  • Your child is between the ages of 0-5 (or has yet to enter kindergarten)

  • You reside in Lewis & Clark, Broadwater or Jefferson county

  • You don’t receive the Best Beginnings Child Care Scholarship

  • You have an annual household income of less than $135,270 per year (150% or less of the State Median Income)

  • Utilize licensed or legally operating child care. Payments go directly to providers.

Please note: The Gap Scholarship cannot cover the cost of care for school-aged children. This includes homeschooling, private school tuition costs, and summer camps.

Applications are open June 1st through July 15th, 2025.

The scholarships are awarded based on a lottery system. Recipients will be notified by August 4th, 2025.
