Birth and Baby Expo
Location: Education Center at St. Peter’s Health, 2475 East Broadway Street, Helena. Use the Main Entrance.
Audience: New or expecting parents or anyone who wants to learn about the services available in the community during pregnancy and the first year or two of life.
Cost: Free
About: There will be tours of the Women’s and Children’s Unit, Car Seat Safety Technician, and many providers in the community focused on pregnancy, birth and the first year(s) of life.
No need to sign up or register ahead of time. Come anytime between 10 am- 2 pm.
Week of the Young Child Wrap Up Conversation
About: Join us for a wrap up session to discuss Week of the Young Child in Helena MT. Week of the Young Child is April 6th - 12th, 2024. We want to take this opportunity to celebrate the amazing week we had! We can chat about what went well, what we should do differently next year and share a little gratitude for our community. You can come to listen, to ask questions, or share your feedback.

Family Friday
Week of the Young Child’s Family Friday!
Come check out the Holter free of charge today (and every Friday!). There will be creative projects available for children and caregivers to do on their own time.
Check out artwork in the museum, make a craft in the “W” Creativity Center, and enjoy the Family Friday!

Audience: Children ages 3-7 years old and their caregiver

Mindful Movement for Mothers
These gatherings are designed for the purpose of creating a community of mothers where we listen to ourselves and each other through movement, voice and creative expression. At the end of each meeting, you’ll be given prompts to experiment in your week by using the somatic tools provided.
Gentle Healing Center is offering this class for free this week to honor all you mothers.

Science Explorers
Are you curious about the world around you? Science Explorers is for 7 to 10 year-olds who want to learn more about the earth, chemistry, environment, space, and more. We’ll apply the scientific method to experiments and projects. Some of our projects will involve ingredients or products that may be common allergens. Registration is required for this program and limited to 20 participants. Science Explorers meets the second Thursday of the month from 4:00PM until 5:30PM.

ExplorationWorks Science Center’s Early Explorers education program gives preschool-age children an opportunity to experience interactive science activities led by skilled educators passionate about learning. Early Explorers Classes are geared for kids ages 0-5 and their care givers.

Free Jump Time
Jump for joy! This is the perfect opportunity to use some of that energy those little ones have!
Free jump time for all children under 8 from 1 - 3 pm.

Stories, songs, rhymes and finger plays. This interactive storytime reinforces a natural learning environment through movement, sounds, rhythms, and fun. Tasty Tuesday
Celebrate Tasty Tuesday with Harvest of the Month!
Join St. Peter’s Health AgCorps member between 2:00 and 2:45 to make a fun and nutritious hands-on snack with your child. No sign-up is needed. Come when you please but know that the snack-making will take about 15 minutes.
Location: Large Community Room at Lewis & Clark Library
Audience: 4-6 years old and their caregivers
Toddler Tales
Dance, sing, rhyme, and read during this energetic storytime designed to help toddlers acquire fundamental knowledge such as shapes, numbers, colors, and more. This storytime is geared for toddlers up to three years old and their caregivers. Toddler Tales is approximately 30 minutes long, followed by a 30 minute open-play session.

A lapsit storytime for babies who are not walking yet and their caregivers. Join us for 20 minutes of gentle fun featuring songs, rhymes, bounces, finger plays, and very short stories. Bond with your baby during storytime and then stay for a 30 minute open-play session to meet other caregivers and help your babies socialize.

Self-Care Sunday: Offering for Loss Parents
This is a special offering for all the parents who have lost a pregnancy, a baby, or a child. This will be a chance for us to be with others who have experienced loss and be creative. You can talk with your fellow humans or sit in silence while you paint.
Audience: People who have experienced loss on their parenting journey.
Capacity: 20 adults
Cost: Free
